Two senior citizens have been injured in a car accident in Glenville.
Authorities were forced to close off a portion of Route 50 after a car hit a utility pole by Willow Lane. Authorities said the pair had been wearing their seatbelts. One woman was taken to a local hospital by helicopter, and the other was taken by ambulance.
Frank Clair of the East Glenville Fire Department said, "Two elderly females were driving northbound on Route 50, lost control of the vehicle, went up on the median, went airborne, hit the pole and did extensive damage to the vehicle and themselves."
Niagara Mohawk crews on the scene replaced the pole because it was not stable and was considered dangerous. |
